15 people temporarily detained over attack against İmamoğlu
15 people was temporarily detained over the attack against CHP Istanbul Mayor and VP candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu. The court released 14 people shortly after their detention under judicial control measures, whereas one suspect was released after giving testimony.

15 people was temporarily detained over the mob attack against Istanbul Mayor and main opposition bloc Nation Alliance’s vice presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu which happened in Erzurum province on May 7.
Erzurum Provincial Police Department teams examined the camera records of the attack and identified 19 suspects. Police detained 15 people as investigations are ongoing to catch the other four people, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on May 8.
Accordingly, the identification of those involved in the attack also continues.
However, a Turkish court released 14 people shortly after their detention under judicial control measures, whereas one of them were released right after giving testimony.
On the other hand, 17 people injured in the attack were discharged from the hospitals
A group of ultra-nationalists threw stones at the election bus of main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul Mayor and vice presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu while he was addressing citizens during a rally in the eastern province of Erzurum on May 7.
Instead of promising to provide security and wishing to get well soon to İmamoğlu and his supporters, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) executives, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, have accused the Istanbul Mayor of provoking the attack against himself.
