$15,000 go missing as vehicle topples into river in Turkey's Trabzon
Some $15,000 went missing in a river in the Black Sea province of Trabzon when the driver for a private construction company crashed the vehicle he was driving and toppled into a riverbed.
Duvar English - Only one thousand of the $15,000 that went missing as a result of a car crash in the Black Sea province of Trabzon has been recovered, Demirören News Agency reported on July 14.
The driver for a private construction company, Bülent Kaşıkçı, crashed a vehicle he was driving on July 10, toppling into a nearby riverbed and losing $15,000 in cash that he was carrying on board.
Kaşıkçı said that the money was his personal belonging and eyewitnesses noted that he looked for the cash immediately after the crash, refusing to get into an ambulance that passerbys called.
One local named İsmail Sezgin found $300 stuck to a small boulder in the riverbed and immediately turned it into the police station, he said, adding that he had a hard time believing that much money had been lost.
