4.3 tons of drug components en route to Netherlands seized in Istanbul
Some 4.3 tons of chemicals used in drug production were seized in a drug bust in Istanbul Airport where the substances were headed to the Netherlands. Sixteen suspects were initially detected for the chemicals that are used in the production of amphetamines and methamphetamine, and three of them including the producer were detained.

Three people were detained in relation to the chemicals, transported from Hong Kong via aircraft and scheduled to be transported to the Netherlands via land transportation.
An analysis of the chemicals revealed that the substances were intermediate ingredients for the production of amphetamines and methamphetamines.
The chemicals were also reportedly controlled substances according to the United Nations and the Turkish Health Ministry.
