Turkey's 14 major provinces and Zonguldak, a coal mining province where the pulmonary disease is very common, will go under a curfew this weekend for the last time.

The Interior Ministry released a circular regarding the weekend curfew saying that grocery shops, butchers, fruit sellers and dried nuts sellers will be allowed to operate until 11 p.m. on May 29 before the curfew goes into effect.

The ministry also said that grocery shops will be open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 30 and citizens will be allowed to go to the market closest to their place of residence.

Bakeries, sweet shops, pharmacies, hospitals and veterinary clinics will remain open throughout the weekend, the ministry circular said.

The announcement came just a few hours after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that Turkey will allow restaurants and cafes to reopen and lift restrictions on intercity travel on June 1.

Restrictions will remain place on the movements of those aged over 65 and under 18, Erdoğan said on May 28 following a cabinet meeting.
