73 percent of Turks happy with their voting decision in presidential elections

Some 73 percent of Turkish citizens seem are happy about whom they voted for in the May presidential elections, according to a recent survey.

Some 72.8 percent of Turkish citizens who cast their votes in the May presidential elections are happy with their voting decision, according to a survey released by MetroPoll.

The survey was conducted with the participation of 1,746 people. The participants were asked if they “regret” for whom they voted in the elections. According to the results shared by MetroPoll founder and CEO Özer Sencar, 22.4 percent said they do “regret” their decision, whereas 72.8 percent said “No” and 4.8 percent expressed no opinion.

The survey also gave a breakdown analysis of citizens according to which political party they favor. The results showed that supporters of the Victory Party, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), Good (İYİ) Party and the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) were least happy about their decisions.

Some 37.1% of Victory Party supporters expressed regret over their decision, whereas this figure was 26.2%, 24.8%, and 22.5% respectively for the HDP, Good Party and AKP voters.

Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) voters were the group most happy with their decision as only 18.9 percent expressed regret.
