78-year-old coronavirus patient tests negative after being treated with plasma therapy
A 78-year-old coronavirus patient in critical condition has tested negative in the space of four days after receiving treatment with a recovered patient's blood.

A 78-year-old Turkish coronavirus patient has shown signs of recovery after being treated with plasma from a survivor, offering hope in the face of the pandemic.
Dr. Bülent Aydınlı, the chief physician at Akdeniz University Hospital in Turkey's southern province of Antalya, told state-run Anadolu Agency that 27-year-old Çağlar Çolak donated his blood plasma to the elderly patient in intensive care unit on April 10.
As a result of this treatment, the elderly patient tested negative, Aydınlı was quoted as saying on April 14.
“The Covid-19 test result of the 78-year-old, who has many chronic illnesses, has turned negative, after the plasma transfer. The patient is doing good, and this is a good progress. We are currently tackling our patient's many other chronic illnesses. We hope that the patient will also recover from these chronic illnesses in the future. We are following the progress in intensive care unit; the treatment is continuing,” Aydınlı said.
Aydınlı also said that the 78-year-old patient is the first patient in Turkey who has tested negative after receiving treatment with a recovered patient's blood.
