Afghan migrant stabbed over coronavirus in central Turkey

An Afghan migrant was taken to hospital after getting stabbed over coronavirus on March 13. "Did you bring coronavirus here?" said the assailant who then stabbed the Afghan national.

An Afghan migrant was stabbed over coronavirus on the bank of a lake in the Central Anatolian province of Konya on March 13.

Habibullah, an Afghan national, was fishing with his friend when a stranger, identified only as U.G, approached him.

“Did you bring coronavirus here?” asked U.G. before drawing a knife from his pocket and stabbing Habibullah.

Habibullah was taken to the Beyşehir State Hospital for emergency assistance before being transferred to a nearby hospital.

U.G. was detained and claimed to suffer from a psychological disorder.
