American broadcasting giant Discovery Inc. bought 35 percent of Turkish streaming service BluTV's stocks, and the two platforms will be sharing content, they said in a press statement on Jan. 19.

Members of BluTV will gain access to all the content provided by Discovery's sub-companies, while users of Discovery's streaming platform Discovery+ will be able to view original Turkish content.

Established in 2016, BluTV produces original content as well as distributing shows from other giants like HBO, and is active in Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa.

Meanwhile, Discovery said that they've been investing in the Turkish market for the past 20 decades and that they are interested in expanding BluTV's budget and portfolio.

"We're all honored that Discovery invested in our company at this point," said BluTV founder Doğan Yalçındağ in a tweet on Jan. 19.
