Antalya top spot for foreigners in house purchases, Russians rank first  

The Mediterranean province of Antalya was the foreigners’ top spot for real estate with 5,201 houses sold during the January-April 2023 period. Russians again topped the list of foreigners with 4,732 houses purchased in whole Turkey during this period.

Antalya in southern Turkey has become the province where the most number of houses were sold to foreigners in both April and the first four months of this year. Of the total house sales to foreigners, 38 percent have been made in Antalya.

Some 5,201 houses were sold to foreigners in Antalya in the January–April period, reported online news outlet T24, citing the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). 

Antalya was followed by Istanbul, Mersin, Ankara, Yalova, İzmir, Edirne, Muğla, Aydın and Kocaeli in terms of house sales to foreigners.

Russians accounted for 35 percent of overall sales to foreigners, topping the list. They purchased 4,732 houses in whole Turkey during the January–April period, marking an increase of 76 percent compared to last year. They bought 817 homes in April alone. Ukrainians, on the other hand, bought 595 in the first four months of the year, and 135 alone in April.

On the other hand, a total of 4,908 houses were sold in Antalya in April, including 1,946 newly built and 2,962 second-hand houses. This figure marked a decrease of 39 percent compared to last year, as 8,076 houses were sold in April 2022.
