Blood supply at 'critical level,' donations needed, says Turkish Red Crescent

Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) has warned that the nation's blood supply fell below a “critical level” due to the coronavirus epidemic and the fasting month of Ramadan, urging citizens to donate blood.
"A very urgent announcement! Please retweet. Our blood supplies across the nation have fallen below the critical level. The falling number of blood donations due to COVID-19 epidemic and Ramadan has depleted our stocks. We need your support for our patients," Kızılay head Kerem Kınık tweeted on April 29, also sharing a website showing a number of places where people can give blood.
The number of people who have died from COVID-19 in Turkey rose by 89 in the last 24 hours to 3,081, Health Ministry data showed on April 29, continuing a downward trend.
The total number of cases rose by 2,936 to 117,589, the data showed, the highest total outside Western Europe or the United States.
