A cafe in the northeastern province of Artvin seated couples of mannequins at every other table to make sure customers are seated at a safe distance from others.

While some of the mannequins are dressed in traditional local clothes, others are dressed casually.

"We did this partly to make the place seem full and to boost morale for us, as the store owners, and the community," said business owner Emrah Özkan.

Customer Yunus Emre Altun noted that the store owners approached the COVID-19 pandemic with humor.

Turkey's cafes and restaurants reopened after months of closures on June 1.
