Turkish main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel on Aug. 21 shared the x-ray film of his broken foot after some allegations.

In the last week, Özel was seen wearing a splint on his left foot as the party said he had “an unfortunate accident.” Özel later said he fell down the stairs in his house, injuring his foot.

Some accounts on social media claimed that Özgür Özel was wearing a splint because he was shot in the foot, or he fell while drunk.

Özel told journalist Saygı Öztürk on Aug. 21 that some accounts intentionally targeted him with the accusations.

“A lie spread by FETÖist accounts, with whom we have a historical enmity, was then deliberately continued by (the others). Their only aim is to harm our party. I actually consider it an embarrassment to even make a statement on this issue,” he said.

Özel shared the x-ray film of his foot with Öztürk.
