The youth branch of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) on July 23 mailed a package to the ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) headquarters.

The package included a brochure about the CHP's policies and six promises of its leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to the youth, and a magnifying glass, implying that Kılıçdaroğlu been forcing the government to take action on several issues.

Lastly, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that university students will only pay the principal money on their state education loans after students' outcry for the exorbitant rise in the interest rate.

The move came after Kılıçdaroğlu called on the youth not to pay their debts, stating only the principal money will be demanded when the CHP assumes power in the upcoming elections.

Sending the package to the AKP headquarters, CHP youth branch head Gençosman Killik called on Erdoğan to listen to Kılıçdaroğlu more “to solve the problems of our nation.”

“When, CHP, under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, promised bonuses to retirees, the AKP then thought of giving bonuses to retirees. They listened to our words on many issues such as minimum wage rise,” Killik stated.

Killik said when Kılıçdaroğlu called on the youth not to pay their education loan debts, the ruling party members tried to find solutions to the problems of young people.

“Young people are aware of who is doing this favor to them,” Killik said.

“In this package, we are sending this brochure, which includes the program of the CHP and six promises of our leader for the youth. You already implemented one of them. You can also apply the remaining five promises. We also put a magnifying glass so that you can examine it thoroughly,” Killik stated.
