COVID-19 deaths in Turkey surpass 8,000

The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Turkey surpassed 8,000 as 65 patients died on Sept. 28, Health Ministry data revealed. Meanwhile, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca noted that the number of recovered patients was higher than the number of new diagnoses for the first time in a while.

The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Turkey surpassed 8,000 as 65 patients died on Sept. 28, Health Ministry data revealed.

“The number of patients who recovered today is higher than the number of diagnoses for the first time in a long while,” Health Minister Fahrettin Koca tweeted.

The total number of deaths reached 8,062 in the country, while the total number of patients reached 315,845 with an additional 1,412 diagnoses.

Some 1,422 patients recovered on Sept. 28, which reassures the Health Ministry that Turkey’s precautions are working, Health Minister Koca added.
