Diyarbakır village quarantined after coronavirus mutation diagnosis

A village in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır was placed under lockdown on Jan. 23 when a patient was diagnosed with the new and increasingly fatal mutation of the coronavirus. The patient had reported to the hospital with a headache and body aches.

A village in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır was placed under lockdown for 14 days on Jan. 23 as the new, increasingly fatal mutation of the coronavirus was detected.

The mutation was detected in a patient who reported to the hospital with a headache, stomach ache, and joint aches.

Located in the majority-Kurdish district of Lice, Tile Village was barricaded by law enforcement and healthcare teams.

A patient infected with the mutated coronavirus was diagnosed in the northern province of Tokat on Jan. 22, and was reported to have infected 10 others.

The Health Ministry's latest statement on the mutation came on Jan. 1, when Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said that some 15 patients were infected.
