Erdoğan asks an American to quit smoking at Central Park
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has asked an American he met to quit smoking while walking at Central Park in New York City.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sept. 17 took a stroll in Central Park, New York City where he came to attend the 77th UN General Assembly session, Anadolu Agency reported.
Erdoğan was accompanied by Turkish Ambassador to Washington Hasan Murat Mercan and Ambassador Feridun Sinirlioğlu, Turkey's permanent representative to the UN.
Erdoğan advised a couple who approached him not to smoke.
Erdoğan said to the wife of the smoker in Turkish, "Let him not smoke, let him quit." The American continued to smoke.
Known for his opposition to smoking, Erdoğan has been asking smokers to quit smoking and collecting packages from smokers during his domestic and international trips and meetings.
