Erdoğan tests negative for COVID-19, ends isolation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has tested negative for COVID-19 for the past two days and is expected to return to his routine program, his doctor said on Feb. 10.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has been isolating since Feb. 5 after contracting the coronavirus, tested negative for COVID-19 on Feb. 10, state-run Anadolu news agency cited his doctor as saying.

Erdoğan said on Feb. 5 he had tested positive for the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

"The PCR tests we have done over the past two days have come back negative," Erdoğan's doctor Serkan Topaloglu was quoted as saying. "I think the President will go back to his routine program very soon, even tomorrow," he added.
