Erdoğan's advisor supports antisemite vigil against Turkey's Jewish Hospital
President Erdoğan’s advisor threw support behind an antisemite group organizing a vigil in front of Istanbul’s Or-ahayim Balat Jewish Hospital in “bloody” scrubs “to protest Israel.” Balat has been a home to Turkey’s Jewish community for centuries and the hospital was founded by the locals in 1898.

Turkish President’s advisor Ahmet Selim Köroğlu shared a support message for an antisemite group “protesting Israel” by wearing “bloody scrubs” near the Or-ahayim Jewish Hospital in Istanbul’s Balat neighborhood.
The neigborhood has been a home to Turkey’s Jewish community for centuries and the hospital was founded by the locals in 1898, during the Ottoman Empire’s rule.
Senior Advisor to the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Member of the Presidential Health and Food Policies Board Köroğlu announced that the so-called vigil will be organized every Saturday.
People claiming to be doctors wore white scrubs during the protest and made hand prints on each other's scrubs with red paint to symbolize “blood.”
Balat Or-ahayim Hospital condemned the antisemite attack with a statement on X and stated, “Since its establishment in 1898 by the decree of Sultan Abdulhamid, providing dedicated and sensitive service to every patient who entered its doors, we condemn the targeting of our hospital, one of Turkey's oldest healthcare institutions."
