Erdoğan's job approval rating continues to plummet
President Erdoğan's job approval rating is continuing to plummet, a recent poll showed. Some 51 percent of the voters disapprove of what Erdoğan is doing as president, the poll said.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's job approval rating is continuing to plummet, according to a recent survey carried out by private pollster MetroPoll.
The poll carried out in August showed that those who approve of what Erdoğan is doing as president decreased to 38 percent, while 51.5 percent of the voters said that they disapprove. Some 10.5 percent of those surveyed didn't respond.
Erdoğan's approval rating was seen to have decreased significantly compared to the previous month. In July, some 48.1 percent of the voters said that they approve of the president's job. The disapproval rating has increased from 47.5 percent to 51.5 percent in the same time period.
According to the poll carried out in 28 provinces between Aug. 19 and 23, the number of ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) voters who approve of Erdoğan's job saw a decrease. Some 81.3 percent of AKP voters approved of Erdoğan's job in July, whereas the number decreased to 76.3 in August.
The number of far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) voters who approve of Erdoğan's job also plummeted. While the percentage was 76.8 in July, it decreased to 54.5 in August.
Some 90.5 percent of main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) voters said that they disapprove of what Erdoğan is doing as president. This rate rose to 91.6 percent from 77 among Good (İYİ) Party voters.
Disapproval of Erdoğan's job saw a similar increase among Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) voters, from 63.8 percent to 88.3.
