Fake brochures distributed in Kayseri to tarnish CHP’s image

Journalist İsmail Saymaz has shared pictures of fake brochures distributed on behalf of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri.

“The provocative ads left on cars in Kayseri,” Saymaz tweeted on May 10. The brochures listed several promises, trying to trick people into believing that they were all at some point made by the CHP.

For example, “We will withdraw from the Eastern Mediterranean,” “We will stop the production of armed unmanned drones (SİHA),” “We will withdraw from Syria’s north,” “We will end the trustee appointments to municipalities even if they are connected to terrorism,” and “We will stop the military operations organized against terror organizations” have never been uttered by the CHP.  

On May 9, CHP lawmaker Tuncay Özkan had said that the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) would try to win the elections through disinformation and have banners prepared that would seem as if the Republican People’s Party (CHP) and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) are linked.

“They will hang PKK banners with the logo of the CHP in 81 provinces. They (the rulership) are losing the elections. The Supreme Election Council (YKS) has to immediately prevent this dirty propaganda. The PKK terror organization will not be able to save them either. They have once again taken shelter under the PKK’s wings,” he had said.
