FEMA thanks Turkey for sending coronavirus donation

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has received coronavirus (COVID-19) donation from Turkey, including 500 face shields, 1,500 goggles, 497,900 masks and 69,330 coveralls.

In a statement, FEMA Region 3, which serves Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, said that the donation contained high-demand items.
The donation was flown to the United States via the U.S. Air Force and landed at Andrews Airforce Base in two shipments on April 29 and May 2.
The supplies from the donation will be pushed across the entire mid-Atlantic region, FEMA said.
Last week, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said some two-thirds of the nations of the world have requested medical supplies from Turkey to fight coronavirus and nearly half of these requests were met.
The countries included the worst-hit ones such as Italy, Spain, and the UK, while Turkey remains the world's third-largest provider of aid during the pandemic.
