Former AKP minister becomes head of Defense Ministry's factories

A former deputy of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) was promoted to Director General of the Defense Ministry's Military Factories (AFGM). İmdat Ersoy also served as Deputy Industry and Trade Minister.

Former deputy of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and former Deputy Industry and Trade Minister İmdat Ersoy was promoted to Director General of the Turkish Defense Ministry's Military Factories (AFGM), the Official Gazette reported on August 21.

Ersoy had been a candidate for AKP's Sakarya deputy in the 2018 elections, and is an alumni of an Imam Hatip high school and Istanbul University's Economics program.

After working his way up to Deputy Industry and Trade Minister, Ersoy was made Deputy Director of the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority.

Ersoy also studied digital trade law in the United States.
