Grocery shops to be open on first day of upcoming four-day curfew
Grocery shops will be open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 23, i.e. the first day of the upcoming four-day curfew. They will be also allowed to operate until 11 p.m. on May 21 and 22 before the curfew goes into effect.

Turkish Interior Ministry has said that grocery shops, butchers, fruit sellers and dried nuts sellers will be open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 23, i.e. the first day of the upcoming four-day curfew. People will be allowed to go to the grocery market closest to their place of residence.
The ministry late on May 19 announced the details of the four-day curfew to be imposed in Turkey's all 81 provinces as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. The curfew is set to begin at midnight on May 22 and end at midnight on May 26.
The ministry said that the closing hours of grocery stores will be extended to 11 p.m. local time on May 21 and 22, ahead of the curfew.
Previous weekend and national curfews were applied to a maximum of 31 provinces but this round will restrict people to their homes in all provinces.
The grocery stores will be closed for three days covering May 24-26, the Interior Ministry said. Bakeries and sweet shops will remain open throughout the four-day curfew. Sweet shops will be allowed to make deliveries to houses.
The ministry also said that relatives of martyrs will be allowed to visit the graves of their loved ones on the first day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday on May 24.
