Hand sanitizer dispensers installed at metrobus stops amid coronavirus fears broken by assailants
Unknown assailants have broken hand sanitizer dispensers that were installed at metrobus stops by the Istanbul municipality amid coronavirus fears. The municipality spokesperson Ongun said the security video recordings were shared with the police to identify the assailants.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) has announced that some of the hand sanitizer dispenser it installed at metrobus stops across the city have been broken by unknown assailants.
Metrobuses are special buses that uses a specially designated lane and operate between 44 stations. They carry thousands of passengers every day.
To combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, the municipality on March 5 installed hand sanitizer dispensers at the entrance of seven metrobus stops: Halıcıoğlu, Okmeydanı, Darülaceze, Okmeydanı Hastane, Çağlayan, Mecidiyeköy and Zincirlikuyu. The aim was to extend the implementation to all of the 44 stations eventually.
“We are having a hard time to understand the mentality that broke these devices which we installed to protect our citizens against a global epidemic,” İBB spokesperson Murat Ongun said on Twitter, adding that they had shared the security video recordings with the police to identify the assailants.
