Hundreds of lots across 19 provinces belonging to Turkey’s Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) were placed on sale, the daily Birgün reported on Oct. 8.

Some 444 lots zoned as residential, commercial, industrial and tourism areas will be sold via tender on Oct. 13 and 14, turning over more than 2.5 million square-meters of public lands to private hands.

The minimum price sought for the lots is around 3.28 billion liras in total, including areas in Istanbul's Sancaktepe, Tuzla and Başakşehir districts.

Construction will be allowed on a majority of the lots in Sancaktepe for up to five stories, while a small portion of the lots was allocated as gas stations and service areas.

A former military zone, the Sancaktepe lots were previously promised by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to become a large hospital, a plan that has failed to be executed since 2019.

Meanwhile in Mediterranean Antalya, 50,000 square-meters of seaside lots in the tourism region Alanya will reportedly be sold for a starting price of 120 million liras.

Another 17,000 square-meters in the Aegean province of Aydın will be sold for tourism and residential purposes at a price of 21 million liras, while 27,000 square-meters in İzmir's holiday town Çeşme will be up for grabs as well.
