Iranian climber dies on his return from Mount Ararat

Ekber Helil, an Iranian climber, died after falling on his return from Mount Ararat.

47-year-old Ekber Helil died after falling on his return from Mount Ararat.

Helil was one of the three Iranian climbers who started climbing Mount Ararat this week, Demirören News Agency reported. After reaching 5,137-meter-high summit of Mount Ararat, they started their return.

When they descended to 4,600 meters, one of the climbers, Ekbar Helil, reportedly slipped and fell.

After falling to 4,300 meters, Halil was found dead. The body of Helil is expected to be carried with a gendarmerie helicopter.
