An ISIS militant has been caught at Ankara's Esenboğa Airport, as he was trying to enter Turkey using a fake passport. The militant was indicated to be of Ozbek origin and a citizen of Russia. The 24-year-old militant was caught after the customs office noticed his behaviors being suspicious.

Turkish authorities were indicated to have previously issued a G-87 code (a code used for “Persons who pose a danger for general society”) and an entry ban for the militant, Demirören news agency reported on Dec. 28.

The police found several fake ID cards, passports, COVID-19 test results on the militant, known only by initials B.V.

After being detained, the militant was taken to the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Anti-Terrorism Department, where the seized documents were analyzed.

Apart from fake passports, ID cards and visa documents, the police found many photos and videos of several other ISIS militants in B.V.'s digital belongings. Among these images were several that showed executions and actions undertaken by ISIS.

The police came to the conclusion that B.V. might be providing fake ID cards and passports for other militants. Following the relevant procedures, B.V. was dispatched to the courthouse.
