Istanbulites will select the new face of Taksim Square from among three projects as part of the Istanbul Municipality's plans to renovate the area. Şerif Süveydan, Bünyamin Derman and Kutlu İnanç Bal were the winners in the contest that was held by Istanbul Planning Agency and Istanbul Municipality's Department of Cultural Assets.

Istanbulites will select the new face of Taksim Square from among three projects as part of the Istanbul Municipality's plans to renovate the area.

Three projects were awarded out of 146 applications and will be put to vote in order for Istanbul residents to choose.

The international contest was held by Istanbul Planning Agency and Istanbul Municipality's Department of Cultural Assets for a 160,000-meter-square area.

The results were announced on Sept. 20 and the award ceremony is set to be held online on Sept. 26.
