Kebab chef takes the stage in parliament to protest Bahçeli's discourse
A kebab chef took the stage during opposition Good Party's group meeting on Oct. 6 to counter ruling alliance partner MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's discourse about separatist kebab shops. Bahçeli said that kebab shops are responsible for unemployment and are aiding and abetting terror.

A kebab chef spoke in parliament during Good Party's (İYİ) group meeting on Oct. 6 to counter discourse by ruling alliance partner Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli who said that 'separatist kebab shops' were to blame for the country's unemployment.
Bahçeli on Oct. 5 blamed kebab shop owners for Turkey's unemployment problem, and said that the kebab shops he mentioned are aiding and abetting terror.
Akşener noted that someone new is deemed a terrorist each week by the ruling People's Alliance, namely Bahçeli and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and invited a kebab chef to the stage to fend off the discourse about his profession.
"We are the people who set Abraham's table. We can't be terrorist or separatists," kebab chef İbrahim Çetinkaya said.
The kebab chef also noted that his profession had suffered during the pandemic, adding that the government should be supporting businesses instead of aiming false accusations at the owners.
