Kindergarten left open in Ankara's quarantine hospital lot, risking 120 kids

A kindergarten in the lot of Ankara's quarantine hospital was left open, putting some 120 kids between three and six at the risk of coronavirus infection. The kindergarten in the lot of Dr. Zekai Tahir Burak Hospital re-opened after the release f the Turkish citizens returning from Wuhan and remains open as the 132 Turkish citizens from Iran were quarantined in the hospital.

A kindergarten in the lot for the capital's quarantine hospital was not shut down, putting some 120 kids aged three to six at risk of coronavirus infection.

Declared a quarantine hospital on Jan. 28, Dr. Zekai Tahir Burak Hospital will be used to host the 132 Turkish citizens who were brought to Ankara from the neighboring Iran where 15 people have died from coronavirus.

The passengers from Iranian capital Tehran, who were taken to Ankara instead of the predetermined destination of Istanbul, got off the ambulances in front of the kindergarten called Little Angels.

"There are some 150 kids here that are not thought of at all," said a parent who saw the plane passengers quarantined for a possible coronavirus infection.

The kindergarten has reportedly been open since the release of the 42 Turkish citizens and the crew of their plane who were quarantined after their return from China's Wuhan province on Feb. 1.
