NATO has shared a solidarity video with Turkey on Twitter, saying "Turkey is NATO."

The video shared with the hashtag #WeAreNATO on Feb. 20 features Turkey's process of joining the alliance and the country's roles in it.

"Our support to NATO dates back to 1952, when Turkey joined the alliance. We are one of the largest contributors to NATO missions and operations," Lt. Col. Esra Özatay, a jet pilot from the Turkish Air Force, says in the video.

"We are proud that the first female jet pilot in the alliance, Leman Bozkurt Altınçekiç, was Turkish. She has been an inspiration for many young women and men to join the army," she adds.

The video then goes on to show Turkey's land, naval and air forces.

"Every NATO member has an equal voice. We take decisions together. United, we are stronger and safer. We are committed to maintaining peace and stability for our citizens and we actively support NATO partner countries," Özatay also says.
