Over 330,000 people left Turkey to live abroad in 2019, show official data
Turkey saw a 2 percent increase in the number of people moving abroad in 2019 compared to the previous year, with a total of 330,289 people leaving the country, according to data from from TÜİK. Some 40.8 percent of those who emigrated from Turkey were between the ages of 20-34, according to TÜİK report.

A total of 330,289 people left Turkey to live abroad in 2019, marking an increase of 2 percent compared to the previous year, online news platform T24 said on July 17, citing data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).
Some 54.6 percent of them were men, while 45.4 percent were women.
Some 84,863 of the 330,289 that left Turkey were Turkish citizens, while the rest 245,426 were foreign nationals.
Some 42.5 percent of those who left Turkey to live abroad were from Istanbul, which accounts for about one sixth of the country's population. Istanbul was followed by the capital Ankara by 8.7 percent, the Mediterranean province of Antalya with 5.4 percent, the Aegean province of İzmir with 3.4 percent and the Marmara province of Bursa with 3.2 percent.
When analyzed by age, people aged between 25-29 topped the list with 15.2 percent, followed by 30-34 age group with 13 percent and the 20-24 age group with 12.6 percent.
