Over 70 percent of Turkish population received two COVID-19 jabs

The percentage of the population who received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine has reached 72.54 percent, Health Ministry data showed on Oct. 3. The Health Minister urged the country to race for the highest rate of vaccination among provinces "for everyone's good."

Turkey's Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Oct. 3 that the rate of two-dose COVID-19 vaccinations across Turkey had reached 72.54 percent. 

The Aegean province of Manisa surpassed the 75 percent full vaccination threshold on Oct. 3, the minister said, noting that the number of provinces with more than three-fourths of the population fully vaccinated reached 20. 

"Let's race for the highest two-dose vaccination rates for all our good!" Koca tweeted. 

A total of 110,333,793 jabs in Turkey have been administered since January, with this number including vaccines administered as first, second, and third doses for patients. 

Some 194 patients died of COVID-19 on Oct. 3 while another 27,351 were diagnosed.
