Turkish authorities have ramped up operations against counterfeit face mask producers amid coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Upon receiving a tip on a group producing masks without a permit from the Health Ministry and under unsanitary conditions, police units raided an apartment in the district and detained five people.

The seized masks will be destroyed, police said.
