Prosecutor who visited Erdoğan after wedding appointed to Court of Cassation

Ankara Chief Prosecutor Yüksel Kocaman who visited President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after he got married has been appointed to Turkey's Court of Cassation by the Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK). Meanwhile, Istanbul Chief Prosecutor İrfan Fidan has been also appointed to the Court of Cassation.

Ankara Chief Prosecutor Yüksel Kocaman who visited President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after he got married has been appointed to Turkey's Court of Cassation by the Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK).

Kocaman is also the plaintiff in a case against Selahattin Demirtaş, former co-chair of pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), claiming that Demirtaş had threatened him during a hearing. 

Meanwhile, Istanbul Chief Prosecutor İrfan Fidan has been also appointed to the Court of Cassation. 

Fidan is the prosecutor overseeing the case of philanthropist, businessman and human rights advocate Osman Kavala, who has been jailed since 2017. 

In total, 11 judges and prosecutors have been appointed as members to the Court of Cassation. 

The other appointments were HSK Secretary General Fuzuli Aydoğdu, Court of Cassation Prosecutor Mehmet Beyhan Seçkin, Istanbul Criminal Prosecutor Canel Rüzgar, Istanbul Trade Prosecutor Kemal Güngör, Mersin Chief Prosecutor Mustafa Ercan, Sakarya Deputy Chief Prosecutor Mustafa Doğan, Ankara Prosecutor Savaş Şahinbay, a prosecutor in the case of the 2016 failed coup attempt Selfet Giray, chief prosecutor of southeastern Gaziantep Ahmet Çiçekli, Kemal Güngör, Mustafa Ercan, Mustafa Doğan and Savaş Şahinbay.
