Turkish authorities violated the right to life of 235 people last month, said the report named “August 2022 Human Rights Violations Report.” Out of them, 186 died in workplace accidents, while 38 in femicide cases, online news outlet T24 said.

According to the report, 345 people were exposed to torture and bad treatment. The report also gave figures concerning oppression media workers have been facing in the country. Accordingly, four journalists were detained, another eight were attacked, and investigations were launched against another five last month.

Police intervened against 35 demonstrations over the same period, detaining 196 people, including two children.

“The (ruling) Justice and Development Party has done something in a successful way. It has ensured equality in oppression and cruelty. Human rights are continued to be violated without total disregard for identity and gender difference,” Tanrıkulu said.
