Turkish mafia leader Sedat Peker received seven votes in an election held at the Aegean Muğla Bar Association on June 28, almost two months after he started releasing YouTube videos revealing the state's illegal undertakings.

Ultimately, incumbent Chair Cumhur Uzun won the election with 581 votes versus 385 for his opponent Emine Yenilmez Aydemir.

Peker became a YouTube sensation after releasing a series of videos including accusations about Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, alongside businessmen close to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

Most recently, a Turkish court issued an access ban on Peker's social media accounts, although the platforms haven't yet complied.
