Six injured after snowball fight turns into armed conflict in Istanbul

A snowball fight that took place between two groups in Istanbul’s Tophane Park on March 12 turned into an armed conflict. Six people were injured in the fight in which the guns were fired.

A snowball fight that took place between two groups of about 50 people in Istanbul's Tophane Park on March 12 turned into an armed conflict, according to reporting by daily Sözcü. 

Six people were injured in the fight in which the guns were fired. The armed conflict was recorded by security cameras nearby.

The video footage showed that a discussion between two groups escalated quickly, with sides attacking each other with punches and kicks. At one point, one of the people pulled his gun and shot at the opposite group. 

The police detained four people in total including the assailant who opened fire. 

Istanbul has been under the influence of heavy snowfall for the last four days.
