Storms, floods claim nine lives across Turkey
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that nine people lost their lives due to the downpour and storms effective throughout Turkey and 11 people from the crew of the ship that sank in the Black Sea had not been found yet.

Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reported that nine individuals, including three children, lost their lives due to the heavy rainfall and storms that impacted the country over the weekend of November 18-19.
As a result of severe weather conditions that affected many provinces, streams overflowed, streets were blocked, roofs were blown off, and many traffic accidents occurred.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) announced that a total of 1,336 reports were received as a result of excessive rainfall and storms across the country.
While schools were suspended in four provinces, a ship with 12 personnel sank off the coast of Northwestern Zonguldak province. While the dead body of one person was found, the search for 11 people continues as of 05.00 p.m. (local time) on Nov. 20.
Yerlikaya stated that the roofs of 57 schools were blown off only in Zonguldak and added, "At first, we allocated 50 million Turkish liras to AFAD for the reconstruction works.”
He also said that the roofs of 43 houses and workplaces were blown off and that the damage assessments have been conducted for the flooded houses and farmlands.
As experienced in the past many times, some temporary settlements in Hatay province, one of the regions. most affected by the Feb. 6 earthquakes, were also flooded.
