Trans woman murdered in front of apartment in Aegean İzmir

A trans woman has been murdered in front of her apartment building in the Aegean province of İzmir. The assailant's identity has not been yet determined.

A trans woman named Günay Özyıldız has been murdered in front of her apartment building by an unknown perpetrator.

The incident occurred in the Aegean province of İzmir's Karabağlar district at around 11 p.m. on Jan. 16, Turkish media outlets reported.

After stabbing the 48-year-old Özyıldız in her neck, the perpetrator ran away.

Özyıldız's body has been taken to the İzmir Forensic Morgue for an autopsy and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
