An increase of 79 kuruş (or 0.79 liras) per liter for gasoline and 2.25 liras per liter for diesel is expected, as of early hours of March 10 in Turkey.

With the latest hike, fuel prices will be increased for the seventh day in a row in the country.

Fuel prices have been soaring due to Turkey's energy dependence and exchange rate volatility.

Accordingly, the price of one liter of gasoline will rise to 21.14 TL in Istanbul, 22.24 TL in Ankara, and 22.26 TL in İzmir. The price of one liter of diesel, on the other hand, will increase to 25.06 TL in Istanbul and 25.17 TL in Ankara and İzmir.

Those who want to fill the tanks of their vehicles with an average capacity of around 60 liters will have to pay more than 1,200 TL now.

As of the beginning of this year, fuel prices have increased more than 50 percent in Turkey, while the increase in the last 15 months has approached 200 percent.
