Turkey's Erdoğan removes health, urbanization ministers
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan removed his Health Minister Fahrettin Koca and Urbanization Minister Mehmet Özhaseki with a late-night decree.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan removed his health minister and urbanization minister, the country's Official Gazette showed on July 2.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca had asked to be removed from his post and Erdoğan appointed Istanbul Provincial Health Director Kemal Memişoğlu in his place.
Koca led the country's health administration during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Murat Kurum was also once again appointed as Turkey's environment, urbanization and climate change minister, after incumbent Mehmet Özhaseki said late on July 1 he had asked to resign due to health issues.
Kurum run for Istanbul mayorship during the last local elections, yet he lost against main-opposition candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu. He was in office during the country's devastating Feb. 6 earthquakes.
