Turkey's Iraq envoy plays soundtrack of mafia TV show ‘Valley of the Wolves’ while entering embassy
A video shared by Turkey’s ambassador to Iraq, Ali Rıza Güney, showed him entering the embassy premises in Baghdad with a soundtrack of the TV drama “Kurtlar Vadisi” (The Valley of the Wolves) being played in the background. The video received widespread criticism on social media, with people asking if Turkey's foreign policy was being inspired by a TV show.

Turkey’s ambassador to Iraq, Ali Rıza Güney, shared a video on his Twitter account, showing him entering the embassy premises in Baghdad with a soundtrack of the TV drama “Kurtlar Vadisi” (The Valley of the Wolves) playing in the background.
The video footage appears to be taken from the official car of Güney.
Güney shared the footage along with the note: “Coming back to the 'nest' after contacts.”
The ambassador's video received widespread criticism on social media, with people pointing out that it was absurd of an ambassador to be inspired by a TV drama and its protagonist Polat Alemdar in his profession.
“It seems Ali Rıza Güney thinks of himself as being on the TV series set,” wrote one Twitter user, while another wrote: “The person who represents you, me, all of us finds this right. Where is foreign policy, diplomacy, weight [of the job position]?”
The series’ hero Polat Alemdar is a secret agent who infiltrates the Turkish mafia. He never shies away from resorting to violence for "the greater good." The series depicts explicit scenes of violence, assassination and torture.
