Main opposition CHP chair Kılıçdaroğlu 'gets his turn,' receives COVID-19 vaccine

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu received a COVID-19 vaccincation on Feb. 12, when his turn for the treatment arrived on the priority schedule. Kılıçdaroğlu had criticized the president and politicians close to him for receiving the vaccination before their turn.

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) head Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu received a COVID-19 vaccination on Feb. 12, when his turn in the priority list arrived.

Kılıçdaroğlu had criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, members of his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and government ally Devlet Bahçeli for overriding the priority system for the vaccinations and receiving the treatment early on during inoculations. 

"We got our turn, and my wife Ms. Selvi and I received our COVID-19 shots at our family practitioner's office," Kılıçdaroğlu wrote on Twitter. 

Turkey began vaccinations on Jan. 14, starting with healthcare workers. Some 2.88 million have received the shot since then, the Health Ministry reported.
