Recent developments in sector

Despite this success, Turkey’s Competition Authority announced on Jan. 10 that it has launched an investigation into 21 talent management companies amid recent allegations of monopolization circulating on social media and reports submitted to authorities.

The Competition Authority stated, “We have received numerous complaints and reports concerning casting agency and talent management activities. Two key issues stand out: allegations that some casting agencies and managers in the sector are colluding to set agency commission rates and certain sales conditions, as well as working together to boycott certain producers and exclude them from the market."

Several actors have also shared their grievances about the television sector on social media as well.
