Turkish Airlines drops food services on short flights
Turkish Airlines said on Aug. 26 that they would no longer offer pre-packaged food on flights that are shorter than two hours. The flagship carrier has observed unprecedented losses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Turkish Airlines (THY) will no longer offer any food on domestic and international flights that are shorter than two hours as additional precautions against COVID-19, the flagship carrier said on Aug. 26.
The company had already switched from serving food in plates to pre-packaged meals, but decided to further eliminate food services.
"Passengers who request it will be offered water. International flights that are longer than two hours will involve pre-packaged meals," THY noted.
The airline endured unprecedented losses during the COVID-19 pandemic, when all commercial flights stopped for months at end, significantly cutting back revenue.
