Two groups affiliated with the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) on April 20 exchanged fire between each other in Ras al-Ayn, a town in northern Syria that Turkish military captured during last October's cross-border military operation dubbed “Operation Peace Spring.”

“In Ras al-Ayn, which was cleared of terror with the Operating Peace Spring, a short-lived armed conflict occurred on April 20, 2020 at about 10.30 p.m. between two groups affiliated with the Free Syrian Army,” read a statement issued by the governorate of Turkey’s southeastern Şanlıurfa province.

“The incident was ended with the intervention of our Turkish military units and local elements in the region,” the statement said.

"Operation Peace Spring," launched on 9 October 2019, is the third major Turkish military operation on Syrian territory since 2016, following the "Euphrates Shield" (2016-2017) and "Olive Branch" (2018) operations.
