Turkish bar associations to take Greece's treatment of migrants to top Europe court
The Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB) will be applying to the European Court of Human Rights on behalf of migrants who were exposed to violence by Greek forces, TBB Chair Metin Feyzioğlu said March 11. Feyzioğlu visited the encampment near the Pazarkule Border Gate with a committee, where he said they collected evidence of maltreatment by Greece.

The Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB) will be applying to the European Court of Human Rights about the treatment of migrants by Greek police at the Pazarkule-Kastanies Border Gate, TBB Chair Metin Feyzioğlu said March 11.
"We will be opening cases against Greece at the ECHR for each and every one of the asylum seekers," Feyzioğlu said after visiting the encampment at the Greece border with the Edirne Bar Association Chair and other attorneys.
The inspection committee collected evidence and took photographs of people whom he said had been beaten with batons, hit on the temple with teargas canisters and stripped by Greek police before being sent back to Turkey.
The TBB has put their legal aid funding to use by assigning a group of experts from the Edirne Bar Association to talk to migrants and be given their power of attorney for the ECHR application process, Feyzioğlu said.
The European Union hasn't complied with the 2016 migrants treaty, but should now do its part in handling the crisis, Feyzioğlu noted.
