Turkish court arrests streamer ‘Jahrein’ over ‘obscene’ remarks

A Turkish court has arrested streamer and YouTuber Ahmet Sonuç, known as “Jahrein,” over “obscene” remarks made in an X live space.

An Antalya court on Sept. 13 arrested streamer and YouTuber Ahmet Sonuç, known by the nickname “Jahrein,” Demirören News Agency reported.

The authorities detained him on Sept. 12 on the charge of “obscenity” on the grounds that he made “conversations that are not in accordance with the general morality and general value judgments of the society” in an X live space named “Incel chat room.”

The Presidential Communications Directorate Digital Media Coordinator Aslan Değirmenci said in a social media post that Jahrein “made lewd remarks against girls.”

Together with him, Ertürk Kösen, nicknamed Pungent 666, was also arrested.
