Turkish court halts media watchdog's order to black out broadcaster TELE 1

A court has ruled for a stay of execution in the case into the blacking out of news broadcaster TELE 1 for five days.
Turkey's Radio and Television High Council (RTÜK) on July 1 ordered TELE 1 and Halk TV, two broadcaster known for their stance against the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), to be blacked out for five days.
The order was slammed by RTÜK members from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), İlhan Taşçı and Okan Konuralp, who filed a complaint into the incident.
The Ankara Fourth Administrative Court has ruled for a stay of execution unanimously, according to Taşçı, who shared the ruling on Twitter.
Taşçı said that the court deemed RTÜK's order as an intervention against press freedom and the people's rights to access news.
RTÜK's order can bear irreparable damages, the court ruled.
